You Really Don’t Want to Work a Cushy Day Job for The Next 20 to 30 Years

Realistically, you need a job in order to pay your immediate bills. You may have rent or mortgage. You definitely have utility bills. You might have a car note. You definitely need gassing your vehicle. And food in your refrigerator too. Those are immediate bills that need to be paid by you either every week, biweekly, or monthly. A regular cushy day job is good to have because it allows you to set a portion of your paycheck aside to work on your affiliate marketing side hustle. Make no mistake that job means “just over broke.” A job is designed to keep you dependent on working paycheck to paycheck so that they keep you working at their mercy. When you take a leap of faith into the abyss by starting your independent affiliate marketing and blogging side hustle, you’re testing your entrepreneurial ambition by doing the transformation business work out of inspiration or desperation. Sure, there’s going to be days where you get lazy and don’t feel like working on your side hustle and perhaps sleep in, or do whatever else you want to do. There’s going to be days where you don’t feel you have enough faith in yourself to make your side hustle work and feel intense feelings of wanting to give up and just rely on your cushy day job.

Don’t give in to those feelings one bit. There’s millions and millions of dollars quietly waiting to be tapped into online through affiliate marketing and blogging-side hustling. It’s your ambition and determination-endurance that’ll either build your online business from the ground floor up into a full-time profitable venture, or keep you in the cheap seats of going back to that job at making someone else rich. Which one do you want for yourself? Do you want to work for someone else for the next 20 to 30 years paycheck to paycheck and wondering if you’ll retire on a healthy pension check? Or take a leap of faith now by getting your side hustle going and possibly becoming an online side hustle millionaire in the next 5 to 10 years? The choice is yours.

Which One is Better: A Blog or Website?

A self hosted WordPress blog on a dedicated server is the ideal transformation business solution and here’s why. It’s the best investment you can make because when you’re building up the content of your blog, you never have to worry about your blog posts being deleted because someone doesn’t like what they read, or they have a personal vendetta against the blogger behind the site. A website is also good to have. But some website plug-ins may cost a pretty penny to install twin hands the functionality of it. WordPress blogging hosted on a dedicated server opens the blogger to infinite possibilities of potentially installing necessary WordPress plug-ins that’ll not only help improve the search engine optimization of the self hosted WordPress blog, but also encourage people to leave your e-mail addresses for “permission based e-mail marketing,” and installing WordPress plug-ins for the purpose of helping the blogger reach new audiences by syndicating blog posts across multiple social networks. WordPress is by far the easiest blog semantic publishing platform in the world to install on a Web server and use. A blog is loved by search engines. Bing.com, Google.com and YaHoO.com quickly index new blog posts published in “Evergreen blog content form,” meaning that if you blog “Evergreen blog content” in excess of 1500 words or more daily, the search engines are likely to index your blog faster than your “niche blogging competitors.”

If you include image and video in the body of your Evergreen blog posts, not only will search engines index you quickly, but people are likely to give you free advertising by sharing your blog post links on Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest. The end result of people sharing your links is not just free advertising, but making more money from contextual advertising and affiliate advertisements on your blog, putting you in the grand position to potentially make money online from [affiliate marketing and blogging] 24 hours a day. Wouldn’t it be a beautiful feeling if you went to sleep and woke up in the morning to 500 or $1000 you made online? This is possible if you get started now, especially if you find yourself quarantined longer than you thought during the COVID-19 Epidemic.

How to Make the Best of Passing Time Quarantined During Coronavirus

The first initial action step to making the best of your time quarantined during the coronavirus is to get yourself a headset with a microphone. If you have no clue how to get started with affiliate marketing-blogging-content marketing, perform random searches in your favorite search engine or search engines of choice of how to get started with content marketing. Open up a blank Google Docs document and activate your speech recognition. Dragon NaturallySpeaking is a great speech recognition program that you can purchase from your favorite stores such as target.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com or eBay.com. Install the program on your PC by following all the direct since. Register your speech recognition program once you have it up and running. Having a speech recognition program on your computer allows you to use the power of your voice to make words appear in either a blank Microsoft Word document or Google Docs document. Practice how to use the speech recognition program to create content using your voice. Once you get the hang of things, check out some videos and articles about “using content marketing to generate affiliate income,” and start posting content to your self hosted WordPress blog using your speech recognition program you just installed. Said she might be quarantined for long periods of time during the coronavirus pandemic, it’ll be a good idea to create content such as posting your feelings to your blog about maybe sitting in the house for lengthy periods, food you ate on a certain day, etc.

Your writing may not be something everyone approves of, but at least it’s your own thoughts and can’t be duplicated. Don’t worry about your style of writing nor what people think of your blog posts. Just write and publish using the speech recognition program on a frequent basis. If you can post one blog a day at least 5 to 6 days a week for 6 to 9 months, you’ll benefit from a potential avalanche of traffic coming in from search engines and social networks. A blog will give you a peace of mind knowing that your thoughts are either empowering someone, invoking a reaction, or motivating your haters to leave feedback. Either way you look at it, blogging is the way to go because at least someone somewhere on the Internet will take time to read and comment on what you’ve written. Believe it or not, even your blog reading haters will be your biggest motivators because they may secretly click on one of your affiliate advertisements and by something though they probably hate your guts for whatever reason. This is why you need to get on the bandwagon now with affiliate marketing and blogging by creating “lots and lots of content.”

    00:00

    - I've been a entrepreneur for 17 years.

    00:03

But if I had to start over, it wouldn't look the same.

    00:06

Hey, I'm Neil Patel and today, I'm going to share with you

    00:09

that if I had to start all over, here's what I would do.

    00:12

    And you know what?

    00:13

    It's not what you think.

    00:15

    (fast-paced, bright music)

    00:19

Before we get started, make sure you subscribe

    00:21

    to this channel.

    00:22

That way, when I release more videos like this,

    00:24

    you'll get notified.

    00:26

    Question for you.

    00:27

How many of you want to be a entrepreneur?

    00:30

I know I wanted to be a entrepreneur.

    00:31

And if you do, leave a comment below with yes.

    00:35

See, when I was starting out at 16 years old

    00:37

or 15-and-a-half, I wanted to make more money.

    00:41

    And I couldn't get a high-paying job.

    00:43

I didn't even have a high school degree at that time,

    00:44

    I was still in school.

    00:46

And I wasn't even graduated from college.

    00:48

    Because when I started off,

    00:49

that's what almost all jobs required.

    00:51

So it was really hard to make a six-figure income

    00:55

    without being a entrepreneur.

    00:56

Heck, my first job was cleaning toilets

    00:58

and picking up trash at a theme park for $5.75 an hour.

    01:02

    Now, here the thing.

    01:04

If you want to do well, it's not just about,

    01:08

hey, I want to go be a entrepreneur and start a business.

    01:10

Because if you do that, you're going to make a lot of mistakes.

    01:13

And that's okay, that's a journey and route

    01:15

that a lot of people take.

    01:16

But I've learned that that's not the ideal approach.

    01:20

If I had to start over again, here's what I would do.

    01:23

    For the first nine years,

    01:25

I would go and work for someone else.

    01:27

    I know that sounds crazy,

    01:29

but you learn so much working for other people.

    01:32

Then when you're ready to start your own career,

    01:35

as a entrepreneur, things will start taking off

    01:37

'cause you'll know what not to do,

    01:39

plus, you'll have some savings, as well, that you can use.

    01:42

And it's not just as simple as working for someone else

    01:44

    for nine years.

    01:45

Here's how I'd break it down.

    01:47

For a few years, for the first two years,

    01:49

I would go and work for a small startup.

    01:51

I'm not talkin' about a Uber or a startup

    01:53

that's just growing like a hockey stick.

    01:55

I'm talking about a startup that's not too well funded,

    01:58

that's struggling, and they're trying to do whatever

    02:00

    to make it work.

    02:01

This will teach you how to fight, how to be scrappy,

    02:03

how to save money, how to be creative, how to problem solve.

    02:08

When companies don't have enough capital

    02:10

and things aren't growing as fast as they want,

    02:12

they got to think outside the box.

    02:14

And that's a very valuable skill for you to learn.

    02:17

Then, for the next three years,

    02:19

I want you to go work at a really big company.

    02:22

I'm talkin' about like a Microsoft or a Dell or a IBM

    02:26

or a Costco or whatever the company may be,

    02:29

    Amazon, you pick it.

    02:30

    Something that's really big.

    02:32

You'll learn how big companies work.

    02:33

You'll learn that you don't necessarily need rock stars

    02:36

to build a $100 billion business.

    02:39

You'll learn that you need to go after a really, big

    02:41

total adjustable market to build a huge business.

    02:45

You'll learn how to play politics.

    02:47

You'll learn how to deal with other big corporations

    02:50

    and close deals.

    02:51

    That's why it's very valuable

    02:52

to work at these big companies.

    02:54

Whether you think this company is sexy or ugly,

    02:56

    it doesn't matter, you'll learn a ton.

    02:58

You'll even learn how to manage employees.

    03:00

You'll even learn how to climb the ranks.

    03:03

Then I want you to go and work for a company

    03:06

that does at least $100 million in revenue,

    03:09

    but has $1 billion.

    03:12

You'll learn from that company when you work there,

    03:14

for two years, how to scale, how to continually grow,

    03:19

    because it's not easy.

    03:20

Yeah, maybe a Microsoft got to being worth

    03:22

    $600, $700, $800 billion.

    03:25

But most companies don't get there.

    03:27

A lot more get to $50 million, $100 million,

    03:30

and they struggle to keep growing.

    03:32

But you'll learn how to grow in that environment

    03:34

'cause it's totally different than it is

    03:35

    working for a Microsoft.

    03:37

And then, last but not least,

    03:39

I want you to spend your last two years

    03:40

working at startup that's growing really fast.

    03:43

One that's raised at least $10 million,

    03:45

in the hockey stick growth, things are really chaotic,

    03:48

    they're really messy.

    03:49

Because when the startups are growing really fast,

    03:52

they make a big mess and you have to clean that up.

    03:55

And learning how to just go with the flow, grow fast,

    03:58

and clean up the mess afterwards is a skill

    04:00

that you need to learn if you want to do well.

    04:03

So now that you've worked for someone for nine years,

    04:05

and technically worked for four different people,

    04:07

you can take all that experience

    04:10

and then start your own company.

    04:12

On top of that, you should've met some amazing people

    04:15

along the way, which will help you with recruiting.

    04:18

Because there's not enough time in the day for you alone

    04:20

    to build a big company.

    04:21

    You need co-founders.

    04:23

    You're strapped for capital.

    04:25

You want to make sure you have other co-founders

    04:27

who are willing to put in the hard times, hours,

    04:30

whatever it takes to build a big company with you,

    04:33

    that believe in that vision.

    04:35

And of course, you've met along other great people

    04:38

who could be employees or team members of your company

    04:40

    along the way.

    04:41

You should recruit them, hire 'em.

    04:43

You may not be able to pay 'em as much

    04:44

    as they were getting before,

    04:45

but you can give 'em some equity in your company

    04:48

to be there along the way.

    04:50

And by doing that, you're going to start seeing your company

    04:53

grow much faster than if you decide

    04:55

to start one from day one.

    04:57

I hope this helps you become a better entrepreneur

    05:00

and I do wish you the best success in the world.
