AdSense Publishers and YouTube Content Creators: Have You Updated Your Tax Info Yet?

    Realtime Website Traffic

AdSense tax information reminder for Google AdSense affiliates

Inside your Google AdSense dashboard, you’ll notice a miniature notice in the header of your publisher profile encouraging you to update your tax information. This rule applies to all AdSense publishers, including bloggers, web app developers, and YouTube video content creators “part and full-time YouTubers.”

Updating your tax information is essential if:
    • You recently incorporated
    • Have a change of residence
    • Received a new EIN “employer identification number”
    • Your social security number has not been entered
    • Switched banks and have a new ABA routing and account number
    • Changed from S-corp to C-corp
    • Took on non-profit 501c3 status
    • You recently rec’d PPP for your company
    • If you don’t want to be the recipient of delayed AdSense earnings transfers to your bank account

Logging into your Google AdSense account and updating your tax information will help you get organized and keep your ducks lined up in staying organized without further delay.

After logging into AdSense to update tax information, click the blue hyperlink that says “manage tax info,” and follow the simple instructions from there. The process takes less than five minutes to complete. After your information is updated in your AdSense publisher dashboard, you’ll see a green W-9 “approved” status. This means your AdSense information is successfully saved in Google, giving you a piece of mind knowing now you can go back to creating content for your blog and or YouTube.com channel.

Fast fact: AdSense is the simplest way to make money online from affiliate marketing and makes the successful transition from day job to full-time online entrepreneur. Why is it so simple? There’s no selling involved. Unlike regular affiliate ads that enable publishers to earn affiliate income when a sales transaction is made online from a blog reader or website viewer clicking the affiliate ad and making an online purchase from the blog or website they just viewed, AdSense publishers earn revenues when ads are adhered to without buying anything.

Thousands of everyday people across the world active in the AdSense program have quietly achieved “side hustle millionaire” status from AdSense alone.

They create “lots and lots of content,” do the transformation business work out of inspiration or desperation, and keep going to build streams of “passive AdSense income,” through blogging and vlogging on YouTube.

Also note: If you're an AdSense publisher living outside the United States, Google may automatically withhold taxes from your AdSense income.
