Jack Markell, Governor of the great State of Delaware, is currently experiencing an online scamster using his name as a fake domain. The site JakeMarkell.com redirects to the governor's name. On the fake Markell website, it depicts an image of the Delaware Governor endorsing someone he wouldn't. That's a political sham of using someone's real name as a domain and trying to paint a political picture which is incorrect.
How to potentially track down the domain owner of JackMarkell.com:
1. Use the Who.is tool and type in JakeMarkell.com (redirects to) --> JackMarkell.com.
2. Once the domain registrant information and hosting company is discovered, locate the IP address (if applicable) and contact the domain-hosting company for further action.
3. If needed, subpoena the hosting company and have them put a freeze on the domain (so the site will be blank and go offline automatically)
4. Strip the domain away from the current owner (if possible) and redirect it to the "about the Governor page" on Delaware.gov.
5. Once the domain registrant information has been secured, send the domain owner a "cease and desist" e-mail and ask them (if the hosting company doesn't take the domain and site offline) to remove the false information.
The governor made it clear in the HuffingtonPost.com video he supports Delaware's Joe Biden 100%.
Update: The hosting company for JackMarkell.com is GoDaddy.com.
