Positions Home Depot in Newark, Delaware is currently hiring:
Merchandise associate - This position requires having general knowledge of Home Depot products and services and provides comprehensive training to new hires. The merchandise associate will be charged with the responsibility of having general knowledge where certain products or located throughout the store. This job requires as an unwritten rule that you keep your health up to par, cardiovascular activity on point, drinking lots of water daily, and taking multivitamins if necessary. Will be required as a new merchandise associate of Home Depot to learn much and retain much.
Customer Service/Sales - Customer service representatives of HD will be dealing directly with people in a friendly and professional manner. Always remember that your attitude directly represents the image of the company and what they think of their clientele. If you have previous customer service experience and good with people and had experience with selling, this can be an ideal job for you and invisible doorway to move up into potential management positions with in Home Depot. You never know where your customer service/sales job will lead you with the company. Cashier - This is a position with no previous experience required. Must be good with handling cash and credit card transactions. The cashier will be responsible for balancing drawers with a positive and credit cash balance throughout their shift and give accountability on every shift work for their cash drawer.
FreightReceiving - This is a job that requires having a strong back and the physical ability to lift no less than 50 pounds. You’ll be doing a lot of pulling, stretching and bending in this position. You will be charged with the responsibility of receiving new merchandise into the store fresh off the tractor trailer - corporate truck. It requires an unwritten rule to stay in the gym and keep the physical fitness up part by at least exercising three days a week and getting in good solid nutrition, and drinking nutritious whey protein shakes. Why? You’ll need to have a little bit of muscle for this job and not slack.
Driver/Deliveries - You’ll probably need a CDL drivers license for this position. It’s pretty much guaranteed that Home Depot will be running a drivers license check to make sure you have zero points on your license. That said, you better head on down to the Delaware Department of motor vehicle and get your driver record checked to make sure there’s no points on your driving record before applying to this position. The driver will be charged with making deliveries for Home Depot at numerous locations. Its unsure at this time if the driver will be given a GPS to help them better navigate areas there unsure where to deliver goods.
Retail Asset Protection - This falls under Home Depot loss prevention specialist. You’ll be charged with the responsibility of making sure no one is doing any kind of “boosting.” Boosting, in New York terms, is referred to as helping oneself to goods or services without rendering payment. In other words, you’ll have to stop people from stealing before they make it out the door as your job. You may get into a few fist fights here and there potentially, so be sure to have your fighting gloves ready in the spurred a moment in case a person wants to go “shoot a fair one in going head up/hand-to-hand combat” with you. LOL
