and many more. The 80's was also an era of harmony and less violence.
FastFact# Rap music started in the early 1970's in the South Bronx, flooded the rest of the boroughs of New York, and finally making way over to the West Coast. When rap music started in the South Bronx, Russell Simmons was a college student at City College of New York, dropping out to start his record label Def Jam Recordings in 1979. Joyriding NYC subway trains in this era was a big thing for many city youth throughout the five boroughs, as it provided temporary mental relief from daily struggle.
This era was also the high time when many rappers and graffiti artists in New York City wore sneakers by Converse, Pony, Puma, Troop, Etonic Z, but mostly Puma. Pumas was the preferred sneaker work by youth in New York.
