Is Subway on Rhode Island Avenue in Washington, D.C. located in the Rhode Island strip mall a ripoff? DrewryNewsNetwork.com thinks so. A footlong Tuna sandwich which was reasonably priced at only $6 was fair priced. That's not the issue. The issue is after the sandwich was created, wrapped up and placed in the Subway sandwich bag, the total cost including tax came to $6.65. The cashier didn't mention there is a 5 cent charge just to put the sandwich in the Subway sandwich bag, which is a "hidden cost." When something was said about how high the tax was, that was when the Indian sandwich maker-cashier broke down the charges. 60 cents for tax as he said Washington, D.C. is 6% sales tax, and then 5 cents for the cost of the bag.
Is Subway on Rhode Island Avenue in Washington, D.C. secretly earning extra profit and ripping off customers, by charging an extra 5 cents for the Subway sandwich bag, when other Subway sandwich shops don't charge that anonymous fee? It's sad to say in this case, Subway gets a bad restaurant review.
Some customers allegedly feel ripped off by some subway stores not just in Washington DC, what potentially some other states.
